At Baby Bhumi, we believe that trust is built through transparency — in the fabrics we choose and in how we handle the information you share with us. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and how it is kept safe.
By using our website, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Who We Are
Baby Bhumi is an Indian babywear brand committed to thoughtfully made, certified safer fabric options where applicable, for children aged 0–5. We are operated by Baby Bhumi Living LLP, registered at Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, Telangana — 500047, India.
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our website at www.babybhumi.com, our Instagram presence at @babybhumi.shop, and any related communications.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us
When you join our waitlist, contact us, or communicate with us, we may collect:
- Your email address
- Your name, if provided
- Your phone number, if provided in future forms or at checkout
- Any message or enquiry you send us
- Communication preferences, where applicable
As we grow, we may also collect your shipping address when you place an order. This policy will be updated at that point, and you will be notified.
At this time, we do not intentionally collect baby names, child age, child birthday, gender, or other child-specific personal details through our website.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, certain technical data is collected automatically by the tools we use — including your browser type, device type, the pages you view, and your approximate location (country/city level). This is collected through:
- Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which records server logs and session data to operate the store
- Google Analytics — which measures how visitors use our website so we can improve it (see Section 6 on Cookies for opt-out options)
We do not collect or store sensitive personal data such as government IDs, financial account numbers, biometric data, or health information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only for the purposes described below. We do not sell it. We use it only for the purposes described in this policy, or for closely related purposes permitted by applicable law.
- To send you updates about Baby Bhumi — product launches, waitlist notifications, and news you asked to receive
- To process and fulfil orders you place (once the store is live)
- To respond to questions or support requests you send us
- To understand how our website is being used so we can improve it
- To comply with our legal obligations under applicable Indian law
We will always give you a clear, easy way to stop receiving marketing communications from us. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
4. Marketing Communications
If you join our waitlist or subscribe to updates, we may use your email address to send you Baby Bhumi launch updates, early access information, product announcements, and brand communication.
We are not currently running SMS or WhatsApp marketing campaigns, but we may use these channels in the future — only where permitted and where appropriate consent has been obtained from you.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us at support@babybhumi.com. We will action all unsubscribe requests promptly.
5. Our Website Platform — Shopify
Our store is built on Shopify, a third-party e-commerce platform. When you visit or use our website, Shopify processes certain data on our behalf as part of its standard platform operations — including your IP address, browser information, and browsing activity on our store.
Shopify is compliant with applicable data protection standards. You can read Shopify's own privacy policy at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
6. Payment Processing — Razorpay
Baby Bhumi is currently in pre-launch and does not yet accept orders or payments. When our store goes live, all payments will be processed by Razorpay, a licensed payment aggregator regulated by the Reserve Bank of India.
At that point, Baby Bhumi will not see, store, or have access to your card number, CVV, UPI ID, or bank account details. Payment information will be transmitted directly to Razorpay on a secure, encrypted connection and handled entirely within their PCI-DSS compliant environment. You can read Razorpay's privacy policy at razorpay.com/privacy.
7. Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to help the store function, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the site.
Essential cookies
These are required for the website to work — they enable your cart, keep your session active, and ensure secure browsing. You cannot opt out of these without disabling the website itself.
Analytics cookies — Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and what they click. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings — most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies at any time.
Marketing cookies (future)
We may in the future use cookies from platforms like Meta (Instagram/Facebook) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. If and when we do, this policy will be updated with full details before those cookies are placed.
8. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. We share it only with the service providers needed to operate our business — and only to the minimum extent required.
- Shopify — to operate and host our online store
- Razorpay — to securely process payments, once the store is live
- Google Analytics — to analyse website traffic (anonymised)
- WhatsApp Business — for customer communication, where applicable
- Zoho — for customer support, CRM, forms, or email-related workflows
- Email service provider (to be confirmed) — to send you the communications you sign up for
- Logistics and courier partners — to deliver your orders once the store is live (your name and address will be shared only for this purpose)
Each of these partners is bound by their own privacy obligations and data processing agreements. We do not authorise them to use your data for any purpose beyond what is described above.
We may also disclose personal information if required by law, court order, or government authority under the Information Technology Act, 2000 or any other applicable Indian legislation.
9. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by applicable law.
- Waitlist and marketing email addresses — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to any legal or operational retention requirements
- Order records — retained as required by applicable Indian accounting, tax, and legal obligations
- Customer support correspondence — retained as reasonably necessary to resolve the matter and meet any applicable legal requirements
Once data is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymise it securely.
10. Your Rights
Under Indian law
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you and how it is being used
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Withdraw your consent at any time (this will not affect processing that has already taken place)
- Request deletion of your personal data, subject to our legal retention obligations
- Nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf
For visitors outside India
If you are accessing Baby Bhumi from outside India — in particular from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection legislation — you may have additional rights under those laws, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Where required, the legal basis for our processing of your personal data is your consent (for marketing emails) or our legitimate interest (for analytics and fraud prevention).
To exercise any of these rights, please write to us at support@babybhumi.com. We will respond within 30 days.
11. Children's Privacy
Baby Bhumi makes products for children, but our website and marketing communications are directed at adults — specifically parents, caregivers, and gift buyers. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18.
At this stage, we do not intentionally collect baby names, birth dates, age, gender, size profiles, or other child-specific details through our website. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and take appropriate steps in line with applicable law.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without appropriate consent, please contact us at support@babybhumi.com and we will delete that information promptly.
12. How We Protect Your Data
We take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to protect your personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. Our website is served over HTTPS. When payments go live, processing will be handled entirely by Razorpay's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure — meaning no card data will ever pass through or be stored by Baby Bhumi.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we do everything reasonable to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights or interests, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
13. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers — including Shopify, Google Analytics, Razorpay, Zoho, and WhatsApp Business — may store or process data in India or in other countries where they operate.
Where personal information is transferred or processed outside India, we rely on our service providers' own data protection, security, and contractual safeguards, subject to applicable law. We only work with providers who maintain appropriate standards for the protection of personal data.
14. Links to Other Websites
Our website or communications may occasionally link to external websites — such as certification bodies (GOTS, OEKO-TEX), third-party apps, or social media platforms. This Privacy Policy applies only to Baby Bhumi. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any external website and encourage you to read their policies separately.
15. Changes to This Policy
As Baby Bhumi grows — adding features, markets, and partners — this policy will be updated to reflect those changes. When we make significant updates, we will notify you by email (if you have subscribed) and update the effective date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to revisit this page periodically. Continued use of our website after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
